Girl's Empire dress

Size: 27" bust.
This pattern was published by The Butterick Pattern Company. It was originally described as "Girls' Empire Waist Dress with Surplice Waist, in high or Dutch round neck, either of two styles of one-seam sleeves in full or shorter length and straight skirt gathered at the top or plaited and stitched in tuck effect. Desirable for flouncing, bordered goods or other materials." Written directions. Pattern dates circa 1914.
Suggested fabrics: Galatea cloth, lawn, flannelette, gingham, suiting, cotton rep, woven cotton, and percale. The colors were blue, tan, pink, black, white, and plaids.
Materials required: 3-1/2 Yds. 36" fabric.
