Flora Francine 1855 - 1860 Bonnet Pattern
Details
A three piece bonnet with a flared brim, the Flora Francine first appeared in the American fashion plates in 1854. The Flora Francine initially created a tiny circle around the wearer's face. As the decade progressed, the brim grew creating a larger circle or oval around the wearer's face. From the side, the bonnet appears "C" shaped. Note on the tip: Even when it appears flat on extant bonnets, the tip is a blocked piece placed into the headpiece. The pattern does not require a separate blocked tip but flat and rounded blocked tips are available for purchase. Flora Francine is available with three different shapes for mid 1850s to 1860s impressions. The pattern includes a 20 page instruction booklet complete with detailed illustrations.
